UpperWeather's hits are increasing logarithmically

I heard a news report today that said Barack Obama's support is increasing "logarithmically". I wondered if the this anchorman knew what logarithmically meant. This is important because I believe that the same problem exists with how people think of global warming.

I have plotted the functions:
y = x2  (purple)
and
y = log(x)  (blue)
kmplot
I added the "1" just to move the plot up. Do you think the anchorman meant that Obama's support is leveling off, which is what logarithmically means, or do you think he meant Barack's support is increasing rapidly? GAG!!

I think that most people believe that as the level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere goes up then the temperature of the Earth will go up exponentially. This is what the original IPCC report portrayed. The opposite is actually true. The Earth's atmosphere is already at a level where no matter how much more C02 is added to the atmosphere the temperature can only go up logarithmically. After one of Al Gore's co-laureate's pointed this out the IPCC paper was amended, but I think the original thought still permeates the masses.

I am not saying that we should throw all caution to the wind and start polluting as much as we want. I still want to be able to breath! I also, can't see going back to the stone age in order to cut emissions. Jumping on untested C02 mitigation ideas can only lead to bad things. We all know what a quagmire the whole ethanol thing is.

UPDATE: After Super Tuesday II, I guess his support is growing logarithmically.
