Is the Arctic ice melting or growing?
I thought it had been pretty well covered, and generally excepted that the Arctic ice sheet grew this year. I know that this does not disprove Global Warming for the same reasons that one extreme fire season in California does not prove Global Warming. Climatology is about statistical analysis of as many years of data as you can get. One year does nothing to a long term trend. However, this is not the story that you will hear from Global Warming alarmists. They will point to one hurricane or one fire season, and sound the cry "Global Warming".

Even the ultra-liberal CBC tells how the Arctic ice grew this year. There are 74 confirmed blog reactions to it, and most of them tell why this does not disprove Global Warming. That's fine, I agree. What I do not understand is the alarmist groups that still tell of polar bears and seal cubs dying this year due to arctic ice melt.

"In some parts perhaps not a single one of the seal cubs born in the past few weeks will survive," the WWF said in a statement. What? Which is it?

An article from The American Thinker said it pretty well The fact is, when global warming advocates want to make a point, they tend to blur the differences between weather and climate. This is true except when the weather proves them wrong in which case they immediately flip their argument and point to the long term climate not being affected by short term weather changes.
