I am Green

I was recently talking to someone about Subaru's Zero landfill status, and how cool I think it is. I admit I was skeptical when I first heard about it. I have been suckered into thinking other similar stuff was true and they ended up being scams. But this seems to be a true and really neat effort on Subaru's part. The reply was, "isn't that a little 'green' for you?".

NO! I am very green. My favorite color is green. I love conservation. I don't think you fight forest fires and not come to love the forest, wilderness, and all the beautiful plants and animals that go along with it. I hate pollution in all forms. I really believe in finding and funding research in alternative energy. My problem is with the Anthropogenic Global Warming Hoax, and jumping into solutions that have horrific unintended consequences.

AGW is a scam, pure and simple. The IPCC is a government made panel. I cannot believe that we have given so much power to them.

Look at a recent article I read about an interest group (the TWC) that wants to incinerate our forests. and the public falls for it hook line and sinker. When I fought forest fires I would see this kind of thing happening over and over. It is asinine. Why would we let politicians make such important decisions about our forests?

I would definitely recommend giving SOS Forests a perusal. They point out a lot of ways the government is destroying our forests, and the offenders are probably not who you think they are. SOS Forests also gives clear concise plans on how to make our forests healthy again, while giving good up to date fire season news. But I digress...

I care deeply about our environment. I have fought forest fires, I have forecast fire weather, and I have spent time living off the land, trying to leave no trace, although it is impossible no matter what anyone tells you. I will not eat at Sonic, because they still use Styrofoam cups. I turn off lights when I leave a room. I try not to use biofuels due to their negative energy balance.

I wish people knew that not being green and not believing in AGW, and politically motivated environmental policy, are not mutually exclusive.
